Two SEC football teams drop out of latest US LBM Coaches Poll

With just a few weeks remaining in the season, SEC football still has seven teams ranked in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Last week, and in many of this season’s college football polls, the SEC had nine teams in the top 25. This week, after another wild set of games, they are down to seven ranked teams in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.

The big game this weekend saw the Georgia Bulldogs beat the Tennessee Volunteers 31 – 17. South Carolina versus Missouri was also a matchup of two ranked teams, and the Gamecocks came out on top.

The Texas Longhorns still lead the way for the SEC. They are the only SEC team in the top five, coming in at number three. There’s a glut of two-loss teams now, and the Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee, Georgia, and Ole Miss all are ranked between seven and eleven.

Only a few weeks remain in the 2024 season, and the race to the college football playoffs is wide open for the SEC. Multiple teams still have a shot, and it will be an interesting final few games.
