Saquon Barkley and the Eagles scored 20 points in the fourth quarter of a win over the Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles were u the midst of a sluggish Thursday that had the crowd at the Linc restless.

Saquon Barkley to the rescue of Jake Elliott and the NFC East leaders.

Barkley scored on touchdown runs of 23 and 39 yards within 20 seconds of the fourth quarter as Philadelphia scored 20 straight points in a 26-18 win over the Washington Commanders.

The Eagles improved to 8-2 while Washington fell to 7-4.

Barkley finished with 146 yards on 26 carries. He also caught two passes for another 52 yards in a fantasy football team owners’ dream game.

Jayden Daniels threw an interception to Reed Blankenship after Barkley’s first touchdown run On the second play of the next drive, Barkley scored again.

Washington added a touchdown with 28 seconds left on a pass from Daniels to former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz for the final touchdown.

Ertz also caught a two-point conversion for the final score.

The Eagles have won six in a row while Washington loses back-to-back games for the first time in the 2024 season.

The Eagles won despite a rough night for  kicker Jake Elliott, who missed two of four field-goal attempts and a PAT.
