What to know from Indianapolis Colts’ second Week 11 injury report

Here is everything you need to know from the Indianapolis Colts’ second Week 11 injury report.

The Indianapolis Colts were on the practice field Thursday as the continue preparing for a must-win game against the New York Jets here in Week 11.

On Wednesday, with the bye week still a few weeks away, the Colts held a walkthrough instead of their normal practice routine. However, on Thursday, they were back on the practice field, and with that, released their second injury report of the week.

Let’s take a closer look at what you need to know:

– After DeForest Buckner was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday, he was back on Thursday and was a full participant as well–obviously a good sign for Sunday. Since returning to the lineup in Week 8, the Colts’ defense has been feeling the DeForest Buckner effect, with him not only being one of the most disruptive defensive tackles in football over the last three weeks, but his teammates benefit from his presence as well. Not by coincidence, the Colts pass rush unit as a whole has been far more productive with Buckner back in the mix.

– Bernhard Raimann would miss his second day of practice with a knee injury. He exited Sunday’s game against Buffalo in the first half and did not return. It’s not often that you see a player miss all three days of practice and still play on Sunday, so Friday’s availability for Raimann will be telling. If he can’t go, Matt Goncalves will get the start again. In his two appearances the last two games, Goncalves has been credited with allowing six pressures and three sacks, according to PFF, along with being penalized once.

– For the second day in a row, Michael Pittman was a full participant–a good sign that he will play on Sunday. As Pittman has told us from the start, navigating this back injury will be a week-to-week thing. Julian Blackmon was also a full participant once again as well.

– EJ Speed practiced but was a limited participant for the second day. This is worth monitoring since it was a knee injury that forced him to miss the Miami game–although we don’t know if there is any connection between the current knee injury and that one.
