New England Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones was fired up after the team’s 19-3 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Jones played a big part in the victory by recording five tackles on the day, bringing his season total to 36 on the year.
The defensive unit was a major key in the victory. They recorded nine sacks and 13 hits on Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. They swarmed Williams from start to finish to secure their third victory of the season.
In a video posted on the team’s social media page, Jones could be seen addressing the team after Patriots coach Jerod Mayo handed out a couple of game balls.
“Coach said it—it’s playing complementary football,” said Jones. “All three phases: offense, defense, special teams. It ain’t no special victory how you win in this league. It’s simple.
“It’s sticking together and playing complementary football. We keep doing that, put our head down, and we’re going to go some places. Hey, stack some wins. Stack some wins.”

Veterans like Jones are important on the defensive side of the ball, as the team undergoes a rebuild.
Jones has been a constant in the Patriots’ organization since his arrival in 2016. He has seen the ups and downs of multiple rebuild attempts. He knows what it takes to win, and the Patriots certainly did that on Sunday.
