Tennessee wins homecoming game against Mississippi State

Tennessee totals 452 yards in homecoming win versus Mississippi State in Week 11.

No. 6 Tennessee (8-1, 5-1 SEC) defeated Mississippi State (2-8, 0-6 SEC), 33-14, in its homecoming game on Saturday at Neyland Stadium in Week 11 of the 2024 college football season.

The Vols led, 20-7, at halftime.

Tennessee redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava completed 8-of-13 passing attempts for 174 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game after suffering an injury.

Wide receiver Dont’e Thornton Jr., who was also injured in the game, totaled three receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown. Squirrel White recorded three receptions for 63 receiving yards and one touchdown for the Vols.

Dylan Sampson led the Vols with 149 rushing yards. He also scored one touchdown on 30 attempts.

Gaston Moore replaced Iamaleava at quarterback and completed 5-of-8 passing attempts for 38 yards.
