The first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2024 season were officially unveiled live on ESPN Tuesday night. Here’s what you need to know about the Alabama Crimson Tide after the initial rankings release.
Alabama (6-2 overall) was ranked in the same spot in the initial CFP rankings as their current standing in both the Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll. The Crimson Tide were ranked No. 11.
With two losses already and at 6-2 overall, Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide cannot avoid another setback. That’s the simple reality. Alabama got some help over the weekend when three teams ranked ahead of them in the polls fell: Clemson, Iowa State and Texas A&M.
To no surprise, the Oregon Ducks took the No. 1 overall spot in the initial CFP rankings. Dan Lanning’s team is 9-0 and have spent the past three weeks atop the Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll.
Ohio State checked in at No. 2, with Georgia at No. 3.
