Former Clemson star wide receiver Mike Williams traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers

Williams is on the move.

Former Clemson football wide receiver Mike Williams is reportedly on the move, set to join the Pittsburgh Steelers in a trade with the New York Jets. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Steelers will acquire Williams in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round draft pick, just ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

Williams joined the Jets this season on a one-year deal worth up to $15 million after being released by the Los Angeles Chargers in March. With the Jets, the 6-foot-4, 218-pound receiver recorded 12 catches for 166 yards over nine games.

Before his stint with New York, the 30-year-old spent seven seasons with the Chargers, who drafted him seventh overall in 2017. Known for his playmaking ability, Williams posted 249 receiving yards and a touchdown in 2023 before his season ended early due to an ACL injury. Despite an injury-filled career, Williams has made a mark in the NFL, totaling 321 receptions, 4,972 yards, and 31 touchdowns over 97 games.
