Alabama football back into the Playoff picture per CFB expert

On3 Sports Andy Staples projects Alabama to take on Texas is the first round of the playoffs.

After suffering their second loss of the season against the Tennessee Volunteers, many people considered the Alabama Crimson Tide’s Playoff hopes to be over. Yet, here we are with four weeks remaining and the Tide control their own destiny to the final 12.

Alabama will face its toughest remaining test this weekend when they travel to Baton Rouge to take on No. 14 LSU. The Tigers also have two losses this season, so the loser of this game will essentially be eliminated from Playoff contention. It will be no easy task for Kalen DeBoer and company as Brian Kelly has never lost a primetime home game as the head coach at LSU, but Alabama has also been victorious in five of their last six trips to Death Valley.

Andy Staples of On3 Sports projects that the Crimson Tide will win out and sneak into the playoffs as the No. 11 seed with a road trip to Austin to take on No. 6 Texas in the first round. If Alabama is able to win on the road, they would take on No. 3 Georgia in the quarterfinals. He also expects the Volunteers to make their first ever Playoff appearance as the No. 10 seed.

Saturday is certainly going to be a stressful game, but Alabama looked really sharp against Missouri, and with a bye week to get healthy, I think they’ll look revamped.
