The first 12-team College Football Playoff bracket projection will be released on Tuesday.
Tennessee (7-1, 4-1 SEC) is ranked No. 6 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 7 in the AP Poll ahead of the first College Football Playoff top 25 rankings in Week 11.
The Vols will host Mississippi State (2-7, 0-5 SEC) on Saturday in Week 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST and will be televised by ESPN. Saturday will mark the final SEC home game for Tennessee during the 2024 regular-season.
Tennessee will conclude regular-season play at Georgia, versus UTEP and at Vanderbilt.
Tennessee’s College Football Playoff projection
In the Week 11 USA TODAY bowl projections, Tennessee is projected to host Notre Dame in the first-round at Neyland Stadium. The Vols are also projected to advance to the College Football Playoff quarterfinals against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.

How many teams are in CFP 2024?
For the first time, there will be 12 teams participating in the College Football Playoffs. There are five automatic bids for each of the Power Four conference champions and one to the highest-ranked Group of Five champion. The remaining seven slots are given to seven at-large teams.
How does the College Football Playoff format work?
The top four seeds will have a first-round BYE. The next four highest-seeded teams will host on-campus playoff games as follows:
- No. 5 vs No. 12, winner will play No. 4
- No. 6 vs No. 11, winner will play No. 3
- No. 7 vs No. 10, winner will play No. 2
- No. 8 vs No. 9, winner will play No. 1
