The Atlanta Falcons defense made a statement early on in Sunday’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys as the unit recorded back-to-back sacks on quarterback Dak Prescott during the first quarter.

The two first-quarter sacks, which were recorded by linebacker Arnold Ebiketie and defensive end Grady Jarrett, are the most the team has had in a game so far in 2024.

Jarrett entered the game with 28 combined tackles (17 solo) and 1.5 sacks. That total was achieved in the first game of the season in the 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was Ebiketie’s first sack of the season and a positive sign for Atlanta’s defense with Lorenzo Carter on the injured reserve list. Statistically, linebacker Kaden Elliss currently leads the defensive effort with 4 combined tackles (3 solo).

The Falcons currently lead the Cowboys, 14-3, in the second quarter in what has been a back-and-forth battle with some self-inflicted mistakes so far.
