The Washington Commanders (6-2) and New York Giants (4-3) meet in Week 9 Sunday. Kickoff from MetLife Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Commanders vs. Giants odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions..

The Commanders secured a dramatic 18-15 win against the Chicago Bears with a last-second Hail Mary from rookie QB Jayden Daniels to WR Noah Brown. Covering as 1-point home favorites, the game also went under the total of 46 points. Daniels, who was questionable due to a rib injury, delivered a career-best performance with 326 passing yards and 52 rushing yards. WR Terry McLaurin shone as well, catching 5 passes for 125 yards in the victory.

The Giants dropped their third straight game on Monday Night Football, losing 26-18 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They failed to cover the spread as 6-point road underdogs, but the game went over the total of 37.5 points. The Giants’ defense struggled, allowing 426 yards—259 through the air and 167 on the ground. Despite the loss, rookie RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. gave a strong performance, rushing 20 times for 145 yards and a touchdown. He was in the concussion protocol this week, but he has cleared it and will play.

Commanders at Giants picks and predictions

Prediction

Commanders 20, Giants 13

Moneyline

PASS.

The Giants seem like a wounded animal midway through the season. The Commanders (-210) are poised to end any chance of the New York salvaging their campaign, but I’ll take the better odds on the spread.

Against the spread

BET COMMANDERS -4 (-110).

In their Week 2 matchup, the Commanders narrowly defeated the Giants 21-18, a win that kickstarted Washington’s successful season. While the Giants won both games last year, this season seems poised for a reversal. The Commanders were only -1 favorites in their first meeting but have since earned a 3-point boost as road favorites.

In that initial game, Daniels threw for 226 yards but failed to reach the end zone. However, he has since flourished, completing 70.6% of his passes with 7 touchdowns and 2 rushing scores over his last 5 games, averaging 330 passing yards and 48.4 rushing yards (excluding the Carolina game). The Giants will look to apply pressure, having sacked Daniels 5 times in their last encounter, but he has gained confidence since then. If New York’s offense struggles to stay on the field, Washington’s 6-1-1 ATS record could lead to another victory.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 44.5 (-110).

Although their first meeting ended with a combined score of 39 points, the total has bloomed to 44.5. This increase reflects the strength of Washington’s offense, which has tallied 34 or more points in 4 of their last 6 games. However, the Commanders only managed 18 points last week as Daniels coped with rib pain. The Giants, on the other hand, have struggled offensively, scoring over 18 points just twice this season. With the Under hitting in 6 of their 8 games and 4-1-1 in their last 6 meetings, this matchup could lean towards low-scoring.
