QB Jordan Love injury update

Love injured his groin in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He missed practice on Wednesday but returned in a limited capacity on Thursday, keeping open the door to playing against the Lions on Sunday. Expect him to be a game-time decision. Malik Willis is the backup.

RB Josh Jacobs injury update

As expected, Jacobs — who injured his ankle on Sunday — returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday. He is confident he’ll play Sunday. The Packers need him to be the engine on offense against the Lions, especially if Love isn’t 100 percent.

CB Jaire Alexander injury update

Alexander is dealing with a new knee injury coming out of Week 8. Unlike Love and Jacobs, Alexander did not return to practice on Thursday. Two straight days of missed practice puts his availability for Sunday in big danger. Not having the two-time All-Pro corner would be a tough loss against the Lions’ dynamic offense.

Other Packers injury updates

Center Josh Myers missed practice again, and coach Matt LaFleur said the team is concerned about his availability for Sunday. Elgton Jenkins, who returned to practice, has operated as the backup center. Safety Evan Williams also missed practice for the second straight day. In addition to Love, Jacobs and Jenkins, left tackle Rasheed Walker also returned to practice on Thursday.

Lions injury updates

The Lions returned eight players to practice on Thursday, including quarterback Jared Goff and five others who got rest on Wednesday. Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez missed practice for the second straight day.
