After Week 1 of the 2024 college football season, few would have predicted where Clemson starting quarterback Cade Klubnik was heading the rest of the season.
Since the Tigers Week 1 loss to Georgia, Clemson has won six straight games and have outscored opponents by an average of 27.3 points per game. Klubnik’s play has been a big reason of why they’ve been able to turn things around the way they have.
So far this season, Klubnik has thrown for 1,836 yards with 20 touchdowns and three interceptions. His QBR of 87.4 ranks fifth in college football, but he’s beyond just a threat through the air. With 227 yards and four rushing touchdowns, he’s a threat on the ground.
After the Tigers bye week, Klubnik has jumped to No. 5 in Heisman odds, according to FanDuel sportsbook. His +1500 is only followed by Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel (+230), Colorado cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter (+270), Miami quarterback Cam Ward (+300), and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty (+440).
Klubnik is a long shot, but you never know.
