With Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels still looking to add to their 2025 recruiting class, they have just a handful of targets left on their board at the moment. With one commitment, the Tar Heels are hoping to build off of that.
And one target they have on their board is five-star forward Caleb Wilson.
The Atlanta product is one of the top recruits in this 2025 class and have some big programs after them. But recent reports have suggested that this is a blue blood battle between the Tar Heels and Kentucky Wildcats. With Wilson’s recruitment being relatively quiet, a potential favorite has emerged.
The Wildcats have landed a crystal ball prediction for Wilson on 247Sports from Aaron Gershon, a staff writer for Cat’s Pause. The site covers Kentucky, so there’s some insight by Gershon in this recruitment.
Gershon put a confidence of six on his pick.
While a crystal ball from a local reporter doesn’t guarantee a commitment, it still is a good indicator of potentially where a recruit is leaning. Typically a prediction from a national analyst is a good sign as well.
So what does this mean for North Carolina?
The crystal ball is obviously not a great thing for the Tar Heels who have been in pursuit of Wilson for a long time. He’s been on UNC’s campus a few times now including just a few weeks back.
The Tar Heels will certainly continue their pursuit of Wilson but as Rob Cassidy noted in his recent report, things are trending toward Kentucky and the crystal ball adds more momentum to that.
