During the first quarter of Saturday’s game against Cincinnati, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders took a proactive approach to stop a frustrated Folsom Field crowd from tossing objects onto the playing surface.
Buffs fans thought they had seen wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. take a screen pass to the house for a touchdown. However, the score was wiped out by a taunting penalty on Horn, who flashed the peace sign at a Bearcat defender chasing him. Colorado scored five plays later on a Travis Hunter touchdown catch, but fans remained angry at the officials’ prior penalty call.
After CU kicked the extra point, Coach Prime grabbed a microphone and implored the Folsom Field fans to stop throwing objects onto the field. Sanders thanked the fans for their support before finishing his speech by pumping the crowd back up.
