Drew Allar leaves game vs. Wisconsin with injury

Penn State QB Drew Allar left the Wisconsin game with a possible knee injury.

Penn State didn’t just suffer one key injury late in the first half against Wisconsin. After seeing defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton late in the first half of the game only to return to start the second half, the Nittany Lions may have lost their starting quarterback.

[autotag]Drew Allar[/autotag] went to the Penn State locker room shortly before the end of the first half after the offense failed to pick up a first down in the final minute of the half. Allar did not start the second half for the offense, instead giving way to backup quarterback Beau Pribula.

Drew Allar injury update

It is unknown just what is wrong with Allar, although he did appear to have a potential knee injury. He came up looking a little ginger a couple of moments after being taken down by the Wisconsin defense. Allar reportedly did come out to warm up before the second half started but took his helmet off after a brief conversation with head coach James Franklin.

How long will Allar be out?

We will have to wait for any updates on Allar’s status, although it is unlikely James Franklin will provide many details after the Wisconsin game and ahead of next week’s home game against Ohio State.

Penn State QB depth chart

Penn State is not particularly deep with quarterback depth at the moment. Beau Pribule is a serviceable backup option and can do some things with his legs that Allar can not, so the offense could still be fun to watch with Allar out of the picture for an undetermined amount of time. Penn State freshman Ethan Grunkemeyer has yet to make an appearance and record any stats for Penn State.
