Staff predictions for Week 9 matchup between Alabama and Missouri

The Roll Tide Wire staff make their picks for Alabama vs. Missouri.

Now sitting with two losses, every game from here on in a must-win for the Alabama Crimson Tide, starting this week against the Missouri Tigers.

A Top 25 matchup, Alabama will welcome Missouri to town for what is only the fifth meeting between the two since the Tigers joined the conference back in 2012, as well as only the second in Tuscaloosa over that span.

With the Tigers certain to provide a challenge to Alabama as well, who does our staff here at Roll Tide Wire think will come away with the win Saturday afternoon?

Matt’s Prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 33, Missouri Tigers 20

The pick here is not only Alabama due to the fact that they are at home in a Top 25 matchup, but also because the Crimson Tide have owned this game recently, as well as Missouri entering Saturday dealing with multiple injuries.

However, don’t count out Missouri to keep this game close, as they are still a very talented team even with the injuries.

Steve’s Prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 32, Missouri Tigers 10

I think Alabama uses last week’s loss to Tennessee to play with some fire and passion at home against a Missouri team that will be without a healthy Brady Cook or Nate Noel. While I don’t trust Alabama’s defense not to give up big plays, I do think they’ll get some stops in the red zone and that Jalen Milroe and company will take care of the ball.

Sam’s Prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 35, Missouri Tigers 17

After an ugly rivalry loss to Tennessee last weekend, the Crimson Tide will respond in a big way on Sunday against a hobbled Missouri team. With Brady Cook out, expect the Alabama defense to pick up where they left off last week. As for the offense, the biggest story will be getting Jalen Milroe back in rhythm and hopefully getting more usage of out of the running back room.
