Jets’ Davante Adams gave the ‘realest speech’ says Aaron Rodgers

Davante Adams had only been with the New York Jets for a few days but he still felt the need to step up using his voice.

Following New York’s 37-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7, it was mentioned by other players and coaches that Adams spoke up in the locker room. He gave a speech to his brand new teammates despite only having played one game with them.

Even so, all Adams needed was that short amount of time to get his message across said quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“I thought it was the realest speech I’d ever heard in a locker room in 20 years,” Rodgers said via video conference. “Everybody that was in that locker room felt it.”

As to why Adams felt so inclined and comfortable to speak up, the All-Pro receiver said he felt like he needed to.

“It’s not my personality to see something that’s not right and just let it go on,” Adams explained. “In my mind, it was something that I wouldn’t have been able to see if I didn’t speak up on it.”

The Jets (2-5) will hope Adams’ speech helps get them back to winning ways on Sunday in their next matchup against the New England Patriots (1-6).
