The hits keep coming for the Oklahoma Sooners. Downgraded from questionable to doubtful on Thursday’s injury report, Deion Burks looks like he’ll miss his fourth straight game.
According to George Stoia of SoonerScoop and Pete Nakos of On3, Burks is expected to miss this week’s matchup vs. Ole Miss. According to Stoia, the standout wide receiver suffered a setback at Tuesday’s practice that limited him for the rest of the practice week.
As I reported on @SoonerScoop earlier this week, Burks suffered a setback during practice this week. It originally looked like he was going to make his return on Saturday. https://t.co/daRC24yq9K

So, the Sooners will turn to their young depth in the slot to provide meaningful snaps. Zion Ragins has been getting a lot of snaps, but it was Jacob Jordan who provided six receptions for 86 yards last week against South Carolina in his first offensive action of the season. Presumably, Jordan will receive a larger role in the offense after that performance.
The Sooners need someone to step up in the passing game against an Ole Miss defense that is No. 1 in the nation in rushing yards per game and yards per carry. More of the onus to find production in the offense will fall on Jackson Arnold’s shoulders.
