As Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels continue to build their 2025 recruiting class, the options are starting to dwindle.
UNC has a one-man class for 2025 but has a few targets left on its big board. Among them is the top overall recruit in the 2025 class, AJ Dybantsa.
The Utah prospect has been on UNC’s campus and is being pursued by top programs. UNC reportedly is in good shape, but there was a report from Jeff Goodman suggesting the name, image and likeness licensing price for Dybantsa was through the roof.
Dybantsa’s father is saying the opposite.
Dybantsa’s father told On3 that NIL is not a factor in the recruitment:
“To give you an example, let’s say he chose South Carolina, which they have offered. They have $5 million on the table and Kentucky comes, Kentucky has $3 million. AJ wants to go to Kentucky — he’s going to Kentucky.”
Dybantsa’s recruitment is starting to heat up and if UNC wants to land him, it may have to turn up the pursuit. He’s expected to make a decision sometime in early 2025. The word is BYU is the leader, so that means UNC has some ground to make up.
