LeBron James on the meaning of playing with Bronny was so heartwarming

“It’s family. It’s always been family over everything.”

LeBron James explained why playing with Bronny James is so special, and you might need your tissues for this one.

On Tuesday, LeBron and his son checked into a Timberwolves-Lakers matchup, making history as a father-son duo. Many people who have watched LeBron’s entire career might have found it mind-blowing to see him share the court with his oldest child. However, if that scene didn’t pull on everyone’s heartstrings, hearing LeBron talk about it might do it.

During a postgame interview, he was asked why playing with Bronny meant so much, especially for someone who has made history numerous times. LeBron didn’t hesitate to pour his heart out. Here’s what he shared with TNT’s Taylor Rooks:

“It’s family. It’s always been family over everything. You know, for me, I lost a lot of time because of this league…being on the road at times, missing a lot of of his things…”

“So, to be able to have this moment where I’m working still, and I can work alongside my son — It’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever got from the man above, and I’m [going] take full advantage of it.”
