The Arizona Cardinals have suffered yet another key loss to their defense for the rest of the season. Linebacker Dennis Gardeck, leading the team with three sacks this season, tore his ACL in the Cardinals’ win on Monday night.
The injury will end his season and he will be placed on injured reserve, although that did not happen before the team released its Week 8 depth chart.
It is the second time he has torn his ACL in his NFL career and the third time in his life.
In seven games this season, Gardeck had 22 total tackles, three sacks, six tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, a forced fumble and an interception.
All three of his sacks came in Week 2. He had three tackles a QB hit on Monday night.
The timing isn’t great because he is in the final year of his contract and now won’t be healthy when free agency begins.
