Notre Dame won’t be able to flip wide receiver who recently visited

The flip won’t be happening

It has been a major struggle for Notre Dame football and its 2025 wide receiver recruiting.

Yes, the Irish currently have Elijah Burress and Jerome Bettis Jr. committed, but the intention was to have at least three, if not more, in the class. They’ve missed out on some high-profile names like Derek Meadows, JonAnthony Hall, and Jayvan Boggs.

The coaching staff turned its attention to SMU commit [autotag]Jalen Cooper[/autotag], who took an official visit to South Bend a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, Notre Dame’s attempt to flip the nation’s No. 249 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings isn’t going to happen.

Late on Monday evening, Cooper announced that he was sticking to his commitment to the Mustangs, leaving the Irish wondering who is next once again.

With so many of the top prospects in the class already committed, a flip is the best option for Notre Dame, but at this point, they’ll have to find another player to target to make a change.
