Clemson moves up one spot in latest AP Poll after win over Virginia

Clemson moves up in the AP Poll after Week 8.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers have moved up in the latest AP Poll after their 48-31 Week 8 win over the Virginia Cavaliers.

The Tigers moved up one spot to No. 9 in the rankings, remaining the second highest ranked team in the ACC. Miami remains the highest ranked ACC team, staying put at No. 6 in the country.

The Top 10 had quite a few changes, with Oregon moving up to No. 1, Georgia moving up to No. 2 and Texas dropping four spots to No. 5. Georgia’s defense looked unstoppable in their 30-15 road win over the Longhorns.

The ACC has four teams ranked, with Pittsburgh jumping up to No. 19 and SMU falling one spot to No. 22. The conference has been competitive so far this season.
