Tennessee, Alabama enter Week 8 back-to-back nationally for game control

Third Saturday in October: Tennessee and Alabama ranked top 10 for game control

No. 10 Tennessee (5-1, 1-1 SEC) will host No. 7 Alabama (5-1, 2-1 SEC) on Saturday at Neyland Stadium. Rankings for the Week 8 SEC contest reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.

The Vols and Crimson Tide enter Week 8 also ranked top 10 for game control. Alabama ranks No. 8 and the Vols are No. 9 nationally for game control, according to ESPN’s College Football Power Index.

Game control reflects chances that an average top 25 team would control games from start to end the way this team did, given the schedule.
