The Rams have been without Joe Noteboom since he injured his ankle in Week 1, missing the last four games while on injured reserve. Fortunately, Alaric Jackson has come back from his two-game suspension and manned the left tackle spot, but Noteboom still brings value as a rotational player.
He could be nearing a return and the Rams’ latest roster move could indicate he’ll be back as soon as this week. The team announced Tuesday that veteran lineman Geron Christian has been released. The Rams will need to open a roster spot for Noteboom when he’s activated and waiving Christian would be an easy way to do that.
Christian was signed to the Rams’ active roster on Sept. 10 after Noteboom and Steve Avila got hurt in the opener, but he never played an offensive snap in his five games with Los Angeles.
