Conditions for pick in Davante Adams trade to jump from 3rd to 2nd round

Davante Adams was traded by the Raiders to the Jets for a conditional second rounder. These are the conditions.

Tuesday morning Davante Adams’s time in Las Vegas came to an end with the team finally able to work out a deal with a team in trade. That team was the Jets, who were always considered the frontrunner to land Davante due to his ties with Aaron Rodgers.

What the Raiders were said to be asking for in return for Adams was a second round pick and more. What they got was a conditional third round pick which could turn into a second round pick.

We now know what those conditions are.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams would need to be either a first or second team All Pro OR on the Jets active roster with the team playing in the AFC Championship or Super Bowl.

How often has either of these things happened? Well, Adams was an All Pro three straight seasons from 2020-22. And he was active in the Conference Championship game four times, all with Aaron Rodgers. The last time being following the 2020 season. Adams has never played in a Super Bowl.

So, it could happen, sure. The two will have 11 games together this season to try and put it together.
