Great Osobor discusses following Danny Sprinkle to Seattle

Great Osobor trusted Danny Sprinkle to develop him and followed his head coach to Montlake to see his plan through.

Coming out of high school in Bradford, England, Great Osobor only had two offers to play college basketball and ended up entrusting coach Danny Sprinkle and his Montana State Bobcats staff to develop him. Osobor played two seasons with Sprinkle in Bozeman and was named the Big Sky’s Top Reserve before following his head coach to Utah State.

After being named the Mountain West Player of the Year during his one season with the Aggies, Osobor could’ve gone anywhere in the country for his final year but chose to follow Sprinkle to Seattle, committing to the Washington Huskies.

“Coach Sprinkle is my guy; he’s a tough coach, but he’s fair,” Osobor told NBC Sports. “Once he trusts you, he gives you a lot of freedom, and I feel like that’s helped me because my game is a little bit unorthodox. You have to have someone that trusts you to do some of the stuff that I do, and the fact that he trusts me and lets me have that type of freedom means a lot.”

Even amid all the interest from schools offering NIL deals, it was always about basketball for Osobor, and at the end of the day, he followed Sprinkle to Washington to continue improving both on and off the court.

“I don’t really get into any of that,” Osobor continued when asked about all the interest he received from every corner of the country. “I just came to Washington to be the best basketball player and teammate I can be.”
