There was plenty of smoke surrounding 2025 in-state offensive lineman [autotag]Cameron Herron[/autotag]’s interest for Notre Dame.
The Indianapolis native committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes in late June of this year, but it didn’t seem like the Irish’s were interested. That all changed as the season began, as the 6-foot, 3-inch and 275-pound lineman made an official visit to South Bend this weekend.
Being on hand for a blowout victory over Stanford showed the nation’s No. 473 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings all he needed, as Herron flipped his commitment to the Irish on Monday morning.
With the in-state star joining Notre Dame’s 2025 class, they now have 22 commits. Herron is the only interior offensive lineman, which fills a need for the Irish. The group is ranked as the No. 13 in the country according to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.
Notre Dame’s coaching staff has been working on more than a few other flip candidates as well, so it looks like they aren’t done cooking.
