NASCAR Cup playoff standings before first Round of 8 race in 2024

Check out the NASCAR playoff standings as the Cup Series goes to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the first race in the Round of 8!

The NASCAR Cup Series entered the Charlotte ROVAL for the final race in the Round of 12, and four playoff drivers had their championship hopes disappear. On Sunday, Kyle Larson won the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte ROVAL for his sixth victory of the year. Meanwhile, Alex Bowman, Daniel Suarez, Austin Cindric, and Chase Briscoe were eliminated.

Initially, Joey Logano was the last driver outside the playoff picture; however, Bowman’s No. 48 car was disqualified due to being underweight. Hendrick Motorsports is expected to appeal, so hte Round of 8 could change for a third time.

In the meantime, Las Vegas Motor Speedway is next on the schedule, and with a spot in the Championship 4 on the line, the intensity will start to pick up soon. Below, we look at the current standings.
