Eight SEC teams ranked inside AP Top 25 after Week 7

The SEC boasts eight teams ranked inside the AP Top 25 after seven full weeks of play. Six of those teams are on Florida’s schedule.

Florida hasn’t appeared on the AP Top 25 all season, but eight SEC teams are ranked following Week 7 of the college football season.

Texas remains on top of the rankings after a 34-3 win over Oklahoma, earning 56 of 62 first-place votes. Georgia checks in at No. 5, two spots ahead of an Alabama team that beat them two weeks ago. However, a loss to Vanderbilt last week has the Crimson Tide at No. 7 right now.

LSU continues to claim up the rankings following a three-point win over Ole Miss. The Rebels were once ranked in the top 10 but are now all the way down to No. 18.

Four of the five ranked teams mentioned above loom on Florida’s schedule.

The Gators challenged the Tennessee Volunteers this week, which led to a three-spot dip to the No. 11 spot. Texas A&M beat Florida by 13 points a month ago when they were unranked, but now the Aggies check in at No. 14 overall.

Missouri rounds out the list of SEC teams inside the AP Top 25 this week at No. 19 after a 45-3 win over UMass.
