Clemson jumps into Top 10 of Week 7 US LBM Coaches Poll after thrilling Saturday

Here’s where Clemson ranks in the Week 7 US LBM Coaches Poll, released Sunday.

After another Saturday of thrilling college football action, the Clemson Tigers are once again on the rise in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, released Sunday.

The Tigers (5-1 overall, 4-0 ACC) moved up two spots to No. 9 after their 49-14 rout of Wake Forest on Saturday in Winston-Salem.

Clemson jumped ahead of both the Ole Miss Rebels, who fell 29-26 in overtime to the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, and the Tennessee Volunteers, who needed overtime to survive the unranked Florida Gators, 23-17, in Knoxville.

Dabo Swinney’s team is ranked one spot behind No. 8 LSU (5-1) and one spot ahead of No. 10 Tennessee (5-1).

The Texas Longhorns (6-0) remained No. 1 for the third straight week after their 34-3 win over the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry, while the Oregon Ducks (6-0) rose to No. 2 after their 32-31 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes in a top-five showdown in Eugene.

The Penn State Nittany Lions rose two spots to No. 3 after their overtime win against the USC Trojans in Los Angeles. The Georgia Bulldogs (5-1) stayed at No. 4. Ohio State (5-1) fell to No. 5.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, the Miami Hurricanes (6-0) stayed at No. 6 following their Week 7 bye, and the Alabama Crimson Tide stayed at No. 7. Alabama and Tennessee will meet in their annual Third Saturday in October clash this Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

In other Top 25 moves, the Pitt Panthers (6-0) climbed four spots to No. 20 while the SMU Mustangs (5-1) rose two spots to No. 23.

Clemson will host the Virginia Cavaliers (4-2) Saturday at noon ET. The game will be televised on ACC Network. Virginia fell 24-20 to Louisville in Charlottesville over the weekend.
