After suffering an embarrassing loss the week before at No. 3 Ohio State, Iowa bounced back in a big way on Saturday.
Iowa (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) dispatched of Washington (4-3, 2-2 Big Ten) in a runaway 40-16 victory.
Junior running back Kaleb Johnson was once again phenomenal, rushing for 166 yards and two scores. The 6-foot, 225 pound running back also had an 18-yard touchdown reception.
Redshirt freshman Dayton Howard provided a final offensive exclamation point with his 33-yard touchdown grab from graduate quarterback Cade McNamara.
McNamara finished with 108 passing yards and a pair of touchdown passes.
Defensively, though Iowa gave up 23 first downs and 393 yards of total offense, the Hawkeyes stiffened when they needed to. Iowa forced three Washington turnover on downs and junior Max Llewellyn recovered a fumble off a Will Rogers sack and graduate cornerback Jermari Harris intercepted a Rogers pass.
