Each team can make up to two practice squad elevations each week to the game-day roster. In most instances, these moves are made when there is a position group or two dealing with injuries.

So, with the Colts not making any elevations this week, what does that potentially tell us about Sunday’s game?

Let’s start at receiver where both Michael Pittman and Josh Downs were questionable. If both were going to be out, that would leave the Colts with only four receivers on the active roster for Sunday’s game.

Could the Colts get by one week with only four receivers? I suppose, but I would guess that’s not likely, meaning that at least one of Pittman or Downs could be available.

The other position to take note of is at cornerback. Although there were two roster moves made earlier in the week with the team waiving Dallis Flowers and signing David Long to the 53-man roster, the Colts still have the same number of cornerbacks on the active roster, which is five.

In the previous two games when the team was without Kenny Moore, they made an elevation at cornerback in each of those games. They, of course, did not do that this week. Again, perhaps a good sign that Moore could be back.

With the two other players who are listed as questionable, Braden Smith and Anthony Richardson, the lack of practice squad elevations doesn’t give us any insights into whether or not they will play.

At quarterback, along with Joe Flacco, the Colts have Sam Ehlinger on the roster already. While at tackle, Matt Goncalves is the backup and Blake Freeland is also available if needed.

The one move that the Colts did make on Saturday was signing Evan Hull from the practice squad to the 53-man roster to be the third running back with Jonathan Taylor out.
