A former Nebraska quarterback helped his team upset the No. 16 Utah Utes on Friday night. Jeff Sims came in during the second quarter to help the Arizona State Sun Devils pull off the 27-19 win.
Sims saw limited action but made the most of the opportunity. He went 1-for-2 passing for 13 yards and had one carry for two yards and a touchdown.
The quarterback started the Huskers’ opening game of the 2023 season. He struggled in his only season in Lincoln, throwing for 282 yards and one touchdown with six interceptions.
Sims added 189 rushing yards on 42 carries with one touchdown. He started the first two games of the season before losing the starting job due to turnovers. The former Georgia Tech quarterback appeared in only three games during the rest of the season.
