Raiders HC throws not-so-subtle shot at Steelers defense

Antonio Pierce doesn’t respect the physicality of the Steelers.

In Week Two of the NFL season, the Las Vegas Raiders squared off with the Baltimore Ravens with the Raiders winning a slugfest 26-23. This week the Raiders are welcoming the Pittsburgh Steelers to town.

Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce addressed the media on Monday and whether it was intentional or not, took a serious shot at the Steelers when he was asked if the Steelers is one of the most physical games on the Raiders schedule.

“No, Baltimore is physical,” Pierce said. “I could tell you that on Monday.”

Make no mistake, this Steelers team is nothing like the teams of the past on either side of the ball in terms of physicality. This insult was twice as bad when Pierce gives props to the Baltimore Ravens for their physicality.

There was a time when the Steelers defense in particular was among the toughest in the NFL and a unit opposing offenses feared. This is not the case anymore.
