Breaking down Packers’ final injury report of Week 6 vs. Cardinals

Breaking down the final injury report of Week 6 before the Packers take on the Arizona Cardinals.

The Green Bay Packers ruled out defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt, placed tight end Luke Musgrave on injured reserve and listed cornerback Jaire Alexander, offensive tackle Rasheed Walker, receiver Christian Watson, offensive lineman Jordan Morgan, defensive end Arron Mosby as questionable on the final injury report before facing the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6.

How will the injury situation affect Sunday’s showdown?

Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report ahead of Week 6:

Out (1)

DL Devonte Wyatt (ankle): The Packers’ top interior pass-rusher will miss his second straight game. Like last week, Wyatt didn’t practice any of the three days. He is out of a walking boot but needs at least another week before he’s ready to return. Expect to see more of Karl Brooks and Colby Wooden next to Kenny Clark or TJ Slaton on the interior on Sunday.

Questionable (5)

CB Jaire Alexander (groin): He’ll likely be a game-time decision after missing two straight games. He practiced in a limited capacity all three days this week, but the Packers want to make sure his groin injured is healed before putting him back on the field. A matchup with top rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is possible if Alexander plays. Eric Stokes, Carrington Valentine and Keisean Nixon have all played perimeter corner snaps with Alexander out recently.

LT Rasheed Walker (knee): A late add to the injury report on Friday, which can be concerning giving the timing. He was limited with a new knee injury. Veteran Andre Dillard is likely the top backup at left tackle. Walker has played every snap at left tackle for the Packers this season.

WR Christian Watson (ankle): Three limited practices this week gives Watson a legitimate chance to return after missing only one game. Even in a limited capacity, Watson could provide valuable as a vertical threat and run blocker. Getting back Watson and Romeo Doubs after being short-handed at receiver last week would provide a boost.

OL Jordan Morgan (shoulder): The Packers’ first-round pick has missed two straight games after reinjuring his shoulder, but Sunday could mark his return. Adam Stenavich said the Packers want Morgan resuming a rotation at right guard once he’s back.

DE Arron Mosby (shoulder): He practiced in a full capacity all week, so he should be expected to play. While buried on the edge rusher depth chart, Mosby has played snaps on special teams.

Injured reserve (1)

TE Luke Musgrave (ankle): The Packers placed Musgrave on injured reserve on Friday. He tried playing through an ankle injury, but the team is shutting him down. He’ll miss at least the next four games and won’t return until Week 11 at the earliest. The Packers signed tight end John FitzPatrick to take Musgrave’s roster spot.

No status designation

The following players have no status designation and will be available to play on Sunday vs. the Cardinals: S Zayne Anderson, DL Kenny Clark, LB Edgerrin Cooper, OL Elgton Jenkins, TE Tucker Kraft, OL Zach Tom, CB Carrington Valentine. DL Jonathan Ford has no status designation but remains designated to return from injured reserve.

Cardinals injury report

The Cardinals ruled out receiver Zay Jones, who is coming off a suspension, and first-round pick Darius Robinson, who injured his calf. Kicker Matt Prater, cornerback Garrett Williams, offensive lineman Christian Jones and offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum are questionable to play. Starting right guard Will Hernandez went on injured reserve this week.
