Cameron Boozer is the fifth-highest-ranked Duke basketball commit since 2000

Cameron Boozer, the five-star forward who committed to Duke on Friday, is one of the school’s highest-rated commits of this century.

Cameron Boozer, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Miami, announced his commitment to the Duke Blue Devils on Friday morning.

While the five-star Columbus High School product is technically the No. 2 overall player in 247Sports’ Class of 2025 rankings, he’s also one of the top-ranked Duke basketball commits of the century.

According to the popular recruiting website, Boozer is the fifth-best high school player to commit to the Blue Devils since 2000. Only Cooper Flagg, RJ Barrett, Marvin Bagley III, and Josh McRoberts sit above him on the all-time list.

The newest Blue Devil jumped above names like Dereck Lively II, Jahlil Okafor, Paolo Banchero, Kyrie Irving, and Zion Williamson.

While Flagg, the presumed No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, hasn’t played a minute of regular-season basketball yet, the rest of Boozer’s company makes a promising case for how good he can be in 2025-26. Barrett averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in his first season with the Blue Devils, and Bagley finished with 21.0 points and 11.1 rebounds.

Boozer’s twin brother, Cayden, also committed to the Blue Devils. The 6-foot-4 point guard is 247Sports’ No. 21 player in the class and the 40th overall Duke basketball commitment this century.
