Ohio Football will celebrate former head coach Frank Solich when the Bobcats play Buffalo on October 26, which will be Frank Solich Day.
Solich coached for 16 seasons at Ohio and compiled a 115-82 record. This included four MAC East division titles and being named the MAC Coach of the Year in 2006.
He started his college coaching career at Nebraska, serving as the running backs coach from 1983-1997. He officially became the head coach in 1998 and led the Huskers through some of their most successful seasons. He went 58-19 and Lincoln, which included wins in the Fiesta Bowl in 1999 and the Alamo Bowl in 2000.
He compiled 173 wins and is part of the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame class. Ohio football is off to a 3-2 start the season, good for first in the MAC.
There’s no denying that Solich has left his mark on college football.
