The Carolina Panthers are back in black.
Bank of America Stadium will be a shade darker on Sunday, as the Panthers have broken out the black helmets for Week 6.
Here are some early shots of the fan-favorite look from the start of this afternoon’s practice:

This will be the third rollout for the special headgear, with the previous two also coming against the Atlanta Falcons.
Their debut went down on a wet Thursday night in 2022. The Panthers, led by running back D’Onta Foreman and his 130 rushing yards, washed away the Dirty Birds in a 25-15 victory.
A similar setting would play host to a similar result for the second outing in the black hats last season. Kicker Eddy Piñeiro, following an impressive fourth-quarter drive from quarterback Bryce Young, nailed a field goal as time expired to give Carolina a 9-7 walk-off win in the rain.
What will differ, however, are the tops that are set to accompany the black helmets. Instead of the black jerseys in 2022 and 2023, the Panthers are scheduled to wear their blue jerseys this weekend.
