Bill Burr describes his experience at Washington’s win over Michigan

Bill Burr was in attendance at Saturday’s Washington game, and had a unique view of a controversial moment.

Unbeknownst to most Washington Huskies fans, as stars like Michael Penix Jr., Julio Rodriguez, and Billy Joe Hobert roamed the field, one of the nation’s most popular comedians, Bill Burr, was also in attendance.

The comedian had performed at Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma the night before and decided to check out Husky Stadium before returning home.

“We went to the Michigan Wolverines, Washington Huskies game, and I gotta tell you, sports fans, one of the most underrated stadiums in the country, the Washington Huskies stadium it’s right on the water, really unique looking stadium, gorgeous campus, great fans, great atmosphere, the whole thing, it was an amazing game,” Burr said on the Monday Morning Podcast.

He also happened to be in the section where a controversial incident happened later on in the game. A video went viral on social media of Michigan director of high school relations Chris Bryant walking up to a few Washington fans and hurling a few expletives in their direction.

Bryant’s biography has since been wiped from Michigan football’s website, and Burr described his view of the play.

“It was a great game, and everybody there was cool, man. The Washington Huskies fans were really cool, except for one kid,” Burr continued. “This kid came down, and he was just screaming. I don’t know what the hell he was saying, but like four Michigan players turned around like, ‘What?’”

“And then the kid was, and the kid turned around, looked at everybody else. He goes, ‘Why is he so mad?’ So that was the only kid that sort of ruined it. But there’s always like one idiot there.”

Despite that moment, Husky Stadium left a great impression on Burr, just like it did on former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

“Just an amazing, amazing, amazing stadium. All you Midwest people, now that Washington is in the Big Ten when your team plays them, 100 percent go to that game. You’re not going to be disappointed.”
