CU Buffs men’s basketball to hold open scrimmage on Saturday prior to football game

Fans can catch their first glimpse of the new-look CU men’s basketball team this Saturday

With the Colorado football team set to host the Kansas State Wildcats at 8:15 p.m. MT on Saturday, you can fill the time before by taking in some basketball.

The CU Buffs men’s hoops team announced that it’ll hold an open intrasquad scrimmage at 5 p.m. MT on Saturday. Doors to the CU Events Center will open at 4:30 p.m. MT and admission is free.

Last season, head coach Tad Boyle and his squad set a program record by winning 26 games. The Buffs knocked off Boise State and the Florida Gators in the NCAA Tournament before losing to Marquette in the Round of 32.

Now, the Buffs must reload after losing their top five scorers from 2023-24. Returning senior guard Julian Hammond III has been joined by talented newcomers such as Trevor Baskin, Andrej Jakimovski, freshman Andrew Crawford and others.
