Packers WR Romeo Doubs planning return to practice Wednesday

Romeo Doubs, who was suspended after missing practices last week, is planning to practice with the Packers on Wednesday, per ESPN.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs is planning to return to practice on Wednesday following a productive meeting with the team on Monday, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Coach Matt LaFleur said Monday he is looking forward to Doubs returning on Wednesday.

The Packers suspended Doubs for Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams after he skipped practices on Thursday and Friday last week.

LaFleur said Sunday he was anticipating a chance to talk to Doubs on Monday, and the Packers expected him to rejoin the team this week following the suspension.

The Packers released cornerback Robert Rochell on Monday, clearing a roster spot for Doubs to be reinstated.

Doubs caught 12 of 20 targets for 169 yards and no touchdowns during the first four weeks.

Without Doubs and Christian Watson (ankle injury) on Sunday, the Packers used Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton and Malik Heath as the four primary receivers.

Doubs led the Packers receiver group in snaps played through the first four weeks. He was on the field for roughly 81 percent of the offense’s snaps.

The Packers will start installing the game plan for the Cardinals on Wednesday. LaFleur’s team hosts the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field on Sunday for a noon kickoff.
