Despite not playing a single snap this past weekend, the Colorado Buffaloes gained two votes in the Week 7 AP Top 25 college football poll.
Head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs earned three votes in the latest poll, a slight increase from the one vote they received after upsetting UCF in Week 6. Colorado stands 4-1 (2-0 Big 12) heading into a massive Week 7 home game against the Kansas State Wildcats.
According to College Poll Tracker, Randy Johnson of the Minnesota Star Tribune ranked Colorado No. 23 on his ballot, making him responsible for those three votes. The Minnesota Golden Gophers beat writer was also behind the Buffs’ lone Week 6 vote.
In the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, Colorado picked up 16 votes.
If the Buffs can deliver a convincing win over No. 18 Kansas State on Saturday, they should feel good about cracking next week’s top 25 in both polls.
