Florida football fans were finally excited to see Billy Napier show some emotion on the field.
After the Gators defense forced a punt against the UCF Knights with 1:36 to go in the first half and holding on to a 21-3 lead, Caleb Banks was called for a running into the kicker penalty that gave the Knights an automatic first down and continued their offensive drive.
Napier was not pleased with the call and he gave the referees an earful on the sidelines. So much so that it drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the Gators head coach.
Despite it being a combined 20-yard gain for UCF due to the two penalties, Gator Nation didn’t mind it because they were ecstatic to see the emotion from Napier.
Here’s what they said on X.

Love the emotion from Billy Napier, not something fans see enough of. His Gators have played their most complete half of the season and lead UCF 24-3 at intermission.#CFB2024 #GoGators
