Kentucky football’s next opponent gets a massive upset victory

Kentucky’s next opponent, Vanderbilt, knocked off Alabama in a stunner, 40 – 35.

One week ago, Kentucky was pulling off a huge upset over Ole Miss, and The Alabama Crimson Tide were winning the game of the year so far against the Georgia Bulldogs. What a difference a week makes.

The Wildcats had a bye week, and are preparing for Vanderbilt to come to town. However, the Commodores had to play Alabama. It was all but assumed that Vanderbilt would get rolled by the number one team in the country, but that’s why they play the games.

Alabama went on the road to play Vandy, and the Commodores shocked the world. They jumped out to an early lead, and continued to make plays in the biggest moments. The Tide scored late, but Vanderbilt held on for a 40 – 35 win.

Now, Vanderbilt travels to Lexington to play Kentucky. Quarterback Diego Pavia and company put up over 400 yards of offense against Bama, so the Wildcats defense will need to play well once again.

Before the start of the season, many fans probably penciled in Vanderbilt as an easy win for Kentucky. With their win today, they’ve proven they won’t be an easy win for anybody.
