College football fans absolutely loved Vanderbilt’s awesome upset of No. 1 Alabama

Vanderbilt beat Alabama. For real.

When Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia rushed for a first down on second-and-6 with under 90 seconds to play against Alabama, it sealed the win an all-time historic win for the Commodores over the Crimson Tide.

For the first time since 1984, Vandy beat Bama.

No, really. This happened. It’s not a dream.

Vanderbilt won 40-35 in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, handing Alabama its first loss of the season, and its first defeat under new head coach Kalen DeBoer.

For Vandy, the win snapped a 23-game losing streak to Alabama. It was also the Commodores first win against a team ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25 Poll.

In every sense of the definition, the win was an iconic one for Vanderbilt, and college football folks across the internet loved it.
