3 keys to a Jets victory vs. the Vikings in Week 5

The New York Jets will hope to add a win to their record in 2024 in Week 5. The team will face the Minnesota Vikings in London on Sunday.

As usual, it will never be a walk in the park in the NFL. If the Jets (2-2) expect to beat the Vikings (4-0), there will be a few key things New York will have to focus on against Minnesota.

It will have to be a full-team effort, make no mistake. But these factors could weigh heavy on whether or not New York leave London with a win or loss.

Here are three keys to the Jets pulling out a victory against the Vikings:

Give Aaron Time

(USAT)

The Jets did not give Aaron Rodgers a chance against the Denver Broncos in last week’s 10-9 loss. The QB was was blitzed on 49 percent of his drop backs as he was sacked five times and hit 14. That offensive line has to be a lot better for him and the running back group.

Own the D-line

(Imagn)

The trenches were bad on both sides against the Broncos. After putting up 14 sacks in their first three games combined, the Jets defense failed to muster any in Week 3.

In addition, the big guys up front need to stuff the ground game too. Running back Aaron Jones is off to a good start for the Vikings this season.

Don’t get beat big

(USAT)

Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold is off to a hot start. The praise on him is well deserved. But you can’t overlook wide receiver Justin Jefferson and his big-play ability. The Jets defense won’t, but saying you need to stop him and doing so are two very different things.
