The Kentucky basketball roster for the 2024-25 season is an interesting one. It’s one new coach Mark Pope had to put together, mostly with transfers, after the entire roster turned over with the coaching change.
One of the key players added this offseason was guard Jaxson Robinson. The Senior guard comes over to the Wildcats from BYU where he played for Pope last season. His experience is Pope’s system makes him especially valuable to his year’s roster.

On Tuesday, college basketball analyst Andy Katz ranked his top ten breakout players for the coming season. At the top of the list was Robinson.
Another SEC player, Ole Miss’ Matthew Murrell was in the number two spot, and Ohio State transfer Meechie Johnson was in the third spot.
Robinson will certainly be counted on to be a leader of the team, especially with his experience with Pope. He’s very talented, and could be in for a big season, and that’s why Katz ranked him atop the list of breakout candidates.
