On Wednesday, the San Francisco 49ers announced they have opened the practice window for injured defensive tackle Kalia Davis who has missed the first four weeks of the season on injured reserve.
While Davis will begin practicing as he works his way back to the field, Ricky Pearsall, who is on the non-football injury list, will continue to be sidelined. The 49ers did not open the practice window for Pearsall ahead of Week 5. After four weeks, the 49ers will be able to open Pearsall’s 21-day practice window.

On Aug. 31, Pearsall was the victim of an attempted robbery and was shot in the chest in San Francisco. Pearsall will continue to recover from his gun shot wound before he’s cleared to return to football activities. Pearsall also missed time in training camp and the preseason due to a shoulder injury.
Once recovered, Pearsall will compete for a spot on the 49ers’ pass-catching depth chart behind Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings.
